A Small Price Increase You Say?

Here at Olive & Thistle, in our first two years of operation we have seen unprecedented interest in our wedding films, from couples that are newly engaged, to those booking us last minute, and even those long married that wished they had hired a videographer for their day! We’ve had the privilege of making films all over Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Europe and have loved every minute of the adventure! We’d like to extend a very special thanks to all of our past, present and future couples - without your support, trust and enthusiasm we would not be where we are today!

When we first launched Olive & Thistle, we priced our work based on our desire to not only provide a value to our clients, but also to pay an equitable wage to our filmmakers while maintaining a high standard of work across the board. We anticipated some growth based on these factors, but have been both blown away and humbled by the response to our films, and how much people enjoy them and enjoy sharing them with their friends and family. Because of that word of mouth and resonance, we’ve been forced to take a look at the future growth of the company and how our current package price sits with where we’d like to be in a few years time.

So after much internal deliberation we’ve decided to slightly raise our package price effective immediately for new bookings from now through the end of 2021 to the new price of £1799. We are also opening up our diary for 2022 bookings at a price of £1899.

These new package prices (about a 5% increase) will still include everything in our current package - 2 videographers for the entire day from bride/groom prep until the 3rd dance, and full drone work (where possible). You’ll recieve a 3-5 minute highlights film, a 30 second teaser two weeks after your wedding date, and of course a full 45-90 minute film that contains your entire ceremony and speeches within.

We get it, nobody wants to pay more for stuff. But I'm writing this post because we believe in transparency about what we do and why we do it. With this increase we’re hoping for a bit of breathing room during the busy season, which will result in an even higher quality of film output, higher levels of immediate customer service and the ability to invest in even more of the newest and best kit that’ll make your films even better than they could currently be.
