Our Wedding Film Philosophy
We create documentary, cinematic wedding films for couples that just want to enjoy their day, and 8 years on we still enjoy every minute of it.
Our films don't follow trends, they follow you, your loved ones, they capture your decor, guest reactions, hilarious speeches, faces of joy - everything you may miss and want to remember about your wedding day.
Because your story isn’t a performance. It’s real. Messy. Honest. Unscripted. Beautiful in all the ways that can't be staged.
Because it’s not just about what your day looked like. It's about how it felt.
Who are Our Couples?
We film couples that love a full-on party, ones that just want a chill, relaxed day, and all those in-between.
We film couples that are shy, couples that worry they'll be uncomfortable in front of a camera, and even couples that are unsure about having a videographer to begin with.
The one consistency with all of them? They just want to be able to relax and enjoy themselves, while we work in the background capturing everything.
Capturing a day that they can share with loved ones abroad. A day their children can watch back on a loop. It’s a day that goes by in an instant, and we love the privilege of documenting that for you.
Our Wedding Films
Our all-inclusive full coverage wedding package costs £2250 and includes two videographers for the duration of your day, from bride and groom preparations up to the third dance of the evening. Also included is fully-insured Drone Work by our PfCO licensed drone operator. Final films will include a 3-5 minute Highlights Film and a 45-90 Minute Full Film. This full film includes your entire ceremony and all of your speeches within it. We'll also send you a 30 second teaser clip two weeks after your wedding so you have a little taste of what's to come.
Social Teaser (included) - We're now offering a brand-new film for no additional cost - a 60 Second Social Teaser - a film edited vertically for you to share on social media that accommodates that aspect ratio, which features various highlights of your entire day in quicker clips. It’s basically just a quick wee highlights reel you can use as you please.

Who are we?
Olive & Thistle was founded by two Canadians happily based in the west of Scotland for 10 years now, filming weddings all over Scotland, the UK, Europe and the World. Before that we worked in the Television and Radio industries for over a decade, and enjoyed working with each other so much we decided to get married ourselves! With our 11 year-old son and a scrappy cavapoo named Waffles we are proudly a family-run business. (Though the dog does little-to-no admin).
