WHY CHOOSE OLIVE & THISTLE
There are many companies out there that you can choose for your wedding film, and we know it can get overwhelming when you’re looking for just the right company to create the best film for your big day. Since there’s only so much we can explain about what we do on our main page, we’ve decided to write this little blog post that explains it all, so if you're thinking about Olive & Thistle as a possible videographer for your big day, here’s how we see things going.
THINKING ABOUT BOOKING
So you’re thinking of hiring a wedding videographer for your big day, you’ve browsed online, found a style of video you like, and lo and behold, it’s us, Olive & Thistle! First of all, thank you for considering us for your special day. Secondly, ask us as many questions as you'd like! Send us an email at hello@oliveandthistle.co.uk or by filling out the form on our Main Page. We're happy to answer any questions you have, and if you'd like to have us as part of our day, we'll send you a contract online. You can sign and pay the deposit online - no printing, yay! Our deposit is £500 to secure your date, with the balance due two weeks before your wedding day.
YOU’VE BOOKED
We have a small, very talented team of videographers that we work with and have a company commitment to not overstretch our reach. Firstly that means your wedding will be filmed by one of two primary videographers that we use for all our films. This also means more personal attention before, during and after your big day. You'll also get access to a private questionnaire that you can update right up until your wedding day with all the details we need!
ONE WEEK BEFORE YOUR WEDDING
A week before your wedding, you'll recieve an email from us with all the info on timings, etc - just to confirm everything is correct! Then we'll arrange our travel times and be all good to go!
THE BIG DAY
It’s here, your big day. We know what to expect, what to film and how to film it, so leave it all to us. You will have two videographers there with you from bridal/groom prep until the third dance of the evening. (Although, we can arrange to be there longer if needed!) If we need anything we'll let you know, otherwise our best advice is to ignore our cameras and just enjoy your day! We tell our couples if you don't see us, we've done our job - we're wedding ninjas!
AFTER THE BIG DAY
No matter who films your wedding, all films are edited right here at Olive & Thistle headquarters by Gary & Amanda. The typical turnaround for our films is 8-12 weeks; it will probably be less than that, but we don’t rush these films. In the meantime, at around a week or two after your big day we’ll send you out a short teaser video, just to give you an idea of what to look forward to. When your films are ready, you’ll receive an email with private links so you’re able to view them at your leisure. You’ll be getting a full 45-90 minute film that includes multi-camera capturing of both your ceremony and speeches as well as a 3-5 minute highlights film. This highlights film will be professionally film-graded (cinematic look oh yeah!) and have a proper audio mix to it as well. Your films will be delivered on custom-engraved USB and made available online for download & sharing.
